Job summary

Universal Presentation Concepts (UPC) in Madison, WI is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to interpret drawings and CAD/CAM files, and to develop precise G-code for multi-axis machining centers.

You will select tooling, collaborate with machinists and engineers, perform first‑quality inspections, maintain program libraries, and drive process improvements while mentoring operators and supporting new product introductions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's degree in CNC programming or a related field is required.
• Experience with programming and knowledge of electronics and machine tools is required.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and blueprints.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is required.
• ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and CAD/CAM files to create CNC programs.
• Develop, test, and optimize G-code for multi-axis machining centers.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to maximize efficiency and part quality.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and refine manufacturing processes.
• Perform first-quality inspections and adjust programs to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Maintain and update CNC program libraries, ensuring version control and documentation accuracy.
• Implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap rates, and tooling costs.
• Train and mentor operators on program execution, setup procedures, and best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and prototype development.
• Must be able to setup and operate all equipment in CNC

• Must be able to read and interpret work orders and blueprints
• Experience with ERP Systems a plus
