Job summary

Actalent in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with 5 to 10 years of experience to program 5-axis CNC mills and lathes. You will create and modify CNC programs to ensure precision and efficiency across production.

The role requires strong knowledge of Mastercam, Fanuc programming, and blueprint reading. Experience with CATIA and SolidWorks, as well as palletized 5-axis mills, is a plus. This is a permanent, onsite role with competitive pay.

Qualifications

Job Title: CNC Programmer

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer in the Hawthorne, CA area. This is a long-term, full-time position ideal for candidates with 5 to 10 years of experience programming for 5-axis CNC Mills. The role involves creating and modifying CNC programs for milling machines and lathes, which are essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software.
• Set up and operate milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts.
• Utilize tools such as micrometers and calipers to measure and inspect finished products.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Conduct tooling changes and adjustments as necessary.
• Troubleshoot programming or machine errors to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.

Essential Skills

• 5 to 10 years of programming experience with Mastercam.
• Experience with palletized 5-axis mills is a huge plus.
• Strong shop floor leadership abilities.
• Proficient in programming languages, specifically Fanuc.
• Strong knowledge of geometry and blueprint reading.
• Experience with CAD software, preferably CATIA.
• Familiarity with milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 10 or more years of machining experience.
• Experience with Solidworks.
• Familiarity with Tsugami and Star machines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
