Are you a detail-oriented CNC programmer who takes pride in your work? Can you handle a variety of tasks, completing them with accuracy and in a timely manner? Are you self-disciplined and able to take direction? Can you collaborate with operators on the floor to identify and fix issues?

Essner is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with a solid background in Catia or MasterCAM. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, CAD modeling, and programming 3, 4, and 5-axis mill parts. Extensive experience in programming Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Nickel-Based Alloy Steels is required.

Reports To

Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support new product development and quotations.
  2. Develop CAM programs for multi-axis CNC machines.
  3. Work with the shop to identify efficient work holding and machining practices.
  4. Lead the team in implementing best practice machining methods.
  5. Develop tooling applications to reduce setup and cycle times.
  6. Create standard processes for setup documents, drawings, tooling, job aids, and work instructions.
  7. Review all programming media before shop floor release to prevent disruptions.
  8. Manage programming schedules and personnel to meet delivery expectations.
  9. Lead root cause analysis, investigations, and corrective actions.
  10. Collaborate on new and existing project execution plans.
  11. Build strong relationships with top metal cutting application engineers.
  12. Maintain safety consciousness at all times.
  13. Encourage team success and bring new ideas to discussions.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  2. Proficiency with Catia V5 and/or MasterCAM.
  3. Experience with 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC Mills.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  5. In-depth knowledge of Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Alloy Steels.
  6. Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens, Okuma, and HAAS controls.
  7. At least 5 years of CNC programming experience.
  8. At least 7 years of experience in metal cutting applications.
  9. Strong understanding of GD&T, Algebra, Trigonometry, and machine shop practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  2. 7 years of CNC programming experience.
  3. 10 years of experience in metal cutting applications.
  4. Experience with Okuma Fastem System.
