$55-$60 per hour



SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)



CONTRACT TERM

1 year with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full-time employee.



POSITION OVERVIEW - CNC Programmer

This role will support advanced manufacturing operations by developing, optimizing, and verifying CNC programs for complex machining processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, machine controls, and shop-floor troubleshooting within a high-precision manufacturing environment.



This contractor will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and production teams to improve machining efficiency, support machine startups, train operators, develop standard work documentation, and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance.



RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs using CAM platforms such as Mastercam,

  • Siemens NX, and Esprit 2000 for multi-axis milling, turning, and grinding applications

  • Program and troubleshoot CNC machine controls including Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma systems

  • Develop and optimize macro-based routines including Fanuc Macro B, Okuma macros, Renishaw probing macros, and Siemens macros

  • Verify CNC programs prior to production release using Vericut simulation and verification software

  • Provide daily CNC programming support and troubleshooting assistance to shop-floor operators and manufacturing teams

  • Support Manufacturing Engineers with CNC-related process improvements, machine startups, and production optimization initiatives

  • Provide operator training during new machine installations, rebuilds, and process improvement activities

  • Develop workstation instructions, standard work documentation, and CNC process documentation

  • Support tooling and fixturing requirements to improve machining performance and consistency

  • Establish tooling consumption standards and minimum inventory requirements to support production readiness

  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, cost, and delivery

  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university OR high school diploma/GED with relevant manufacturing or operations experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of manufacturing or operations experience

  • Hands-on CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with CNC controls including Fanuc, Siemens, and/or Okuma

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit 2000, or similar platforms

  • Experience verifying CNC programs using Vericut or comparable simulation software

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes including milling, turning, and/or grinding

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting CNC macros and probing routines

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and production teams

  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team-based manufacturing environment



PREFERRED SKILLS


  • Experience machining large-scale components weighing up to 50,000 lbs.

  • Experience working with exotic materials and complex geometries

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as NX, Inventor, or similar tools

  • Experience developing tooling strategies, fixtures, and machining standards

  • Previous experience training CNC operators and supporting production startups

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and document improvement initiatives

  • High attention to detail, organization, and process discipline
