Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Camarillo, CA. This is a full-time, permanent role in a fast-paced environment where precision and quality are paramount.

You will develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for lathes, mills and 5-axis machines, read blueprints, select tools, set speeds and feeds, and collaborate with engineers and machinists to improve efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably in engineering.
• Proficient in G-code and familiar with 5-axis machining.
• Experience with lathes, mills, and tool and die operations.
• Ability to read, interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Degree in a related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for lathes, mills, and 5-axis machines.
• Analyze orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications to calculate dimensions, tool selection, speeds, and feeds.
• Determine machine operation sequence and select cutting tools.
• Revise programs based on production feedback.
• Improve machining processes by reviewing material waste, machine efficiency, and quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to ensure effective programs.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment per procedures and regulations.
• Stay updated on latest machining and programming technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for various types of machinery, including but not limited to lathes, mills, and 5-axis machines.
• Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Determine the sequence of machine operations, and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
• Revise programs and documentation based on feedback from the production team.
• Improve and optimize machining processes by reviewing material waste, machine efficiency, and product quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to ensure the program is effective and efficient.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Stay updated on the latest machining and programming technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming, preferably within the Engineering industry.
• Proficient in G code programming and familiar with 5-axis machining.
• Experience with lathes, mills, and tool and die operations.
• Proficiency in using micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of tooling and materials.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A degree in a relevant field is preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Willingness to continually learn and improve skills.
