Job Description:

Amphenol FSI is seeking a highly qualified CNC Programmer with relevant experience using Esprit software. This position will be responsible for development and optimization of CNC programs for 3-4-5 axis milling, and 7-8 axis turning centers.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations to program CNC machines.
  • Understand and apply appropriate tool applications and work holding techniques to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes.
  • Design fixtures and select appropriate tools to meet the specific requirements of each project.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines.
  • Conduct quality checks using micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and planning, to ensure seamless integration of CNC programs into the manufacturing process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the programming and machining processes.
  • Maintain and update CNC programs to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Utilize GD&T principles for accurate part production.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing practices to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including ISO and AS9100 where applicable.
  • Train and support CNC operators on machine setup and operation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in CNC programming utilizing Esprit Software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining challenges.
  • Familiarity with micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Experience with lathe and milling machine operations.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or vocational training in CNC programming, machining, or related field with >8 years experience.
  • Experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate, typical of a CNC machine production environment.
