Job summary

MacLean Power, LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator to develop and optimize tool paths for Haas VF-3 mills and VF-2 drilling machines. You will set up, run, and verify programs, ensuring parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and setup experience, ability to read blueprints, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC tool paths/programs for Haas VF-3 vertical machining centers.
• Write, edit, and optimize production drilling programs (G-code) for VF-2 drilling machines.
• Set up and operate VF-3 and VF-2 machines, including tooling, offsets, and workholding.
• Check items produced pass quality control requirements.
• Verify new and edited programs via graphics/dry-run and first-article inspection before release to production.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of equipment and make adjustments or repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Use gaging instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Collaborate with team to increase throughput and efficiency.
• Provide leadership and training as needed.

Job description

Develops, edits, and optimizes CNC programs and tool paths for Haas VF-3 vertical machining centers and VF-2 drilling machines in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for creating and editing tool paths for machining operations on the VF-3, and writing, editing, and optimizing production drilling programs for the VF-2, in addition to setting up and operating the assigned CNC equipment.

Job Duties

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC tool paths/programs for Haas VF-3 vertical machining centers
• Write, edit, and optimize production drilling programs (G-code) for VF-2 drilling machines
• Set up and operate assigned VF-3 and VF-2 CNC machines, including tooling, offsets, and workholding
• Check that items produced pass quality control requirements
• Verify new and edited programs via graphics/dry-run and first-article inspection before releasing to production
• Perform complex troubleshooting of equipment and perform adjustments or repairs
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications
• Use required gaging instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators) to verify part dimensions and tolerances
• Collaborate with team members to increase overall throughput
• Consult with management and help with training
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring when needed
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

• Perform work under minimal supervision
• Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher level staff
• Possess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matter
• Over 5 years of experience, including hands-on CNC programming and setup on Haas (or similar) vertical machining and drilling equipment
• Ability to interpret work instructions
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions
