Job summary

Protocase Inc. in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a hands-on CNC Manufacturing Support Specialist to join our Engineering & Design Services team.

This on-site role connects CNC Production with engineering, troubleshooting production floor issues, providing hot fixes, supporting CNC programming, and ensuring issues are routed to the right technical resources. The ideal candidate has a machining background with 3+ years of CNC experience, reads engineering drawings, and thrives in a collaborative,

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of CNC machining, programming, manufacturing engineering, or related experience.
Experience troubleshooting CNC machining and production issues.
Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
Experience independently solving technical manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities

Support CNC Machining Department with programming, design, build-sheet, and manufacturing issues.
Assess problems and determine immediate correction vs escalation.
Complete fixes.
Escalate complex issues to EDS Leads, programmers, engineers, or other technical resources.
Submit NCRs and feedback and maintain records of issues and corrective actions.
Create, modify, verify, and troubleshoot CNC mill and lathe programs.
Review drawings, blueprints, build sheets, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
Prepare CNC code, setup instructions, tooling information, and production documentation.
Identify recurring problems and implement long-term process improvements.
Improve CNC programs, tooling, machines, workstations, and manufacturing processes.
