Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to support precision manufacturing of turbine and generator components. You will set up and operate CNC equipment, interpret complex blueprints, and plan tooling and machining sequences to meet strict specs.

You will load and unload parts using jib and bridge cranes, ensure QA procedures, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment on the shop floor. High school diploma and 3+ years of CNC experience required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on CNC operations with strengths in: Machining, Welding, Laser applications, Coating machines.
  • Certifications: Active fork truck/crane license (or the ability to obtain immediately upon selection); Career Readiness / Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CNC setup/operation, loading and unloading workpieces, following QA procedures, performing complex metrology, and reading intricate drawings; strong shop math.
  • Medical & Fitness: Ability to wear a respirator and pass a Process Operator Proficiency Test; must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function testing.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret detailed blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing specifications to plan tooling and machining strategy.
  • Load and unload workpieces using jib and bridge cranes and forklifts; assist crane operations as needed.
  • Adhere to established company procedures for machinery and equipment operation.
  • Champion a culture of safety and quality while handling materials up to 50 lbs.

From the moment you clock in, you’ll prepare CNC equipment, choose tools, and run precision operations on complex transitions—machining, bonding, welding, and manual finishing—guided by exacting drawings and specs.
