Job summary
Oerlikon Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Westbury, NY site. You will plan and design operation sequences, program CNC machines, select tooling and fixtures, and layout the plant for optimal flow.
You will drive cost-saving improvements and train staff in CNC programming and setups. Responsibilities include supporting production schedules, developing manufacturability considerations, and introducing new processes and technologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong CAD/CAM knowledge and CNC programming ability.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and cost effects.
- 5 years of varied machine shop/tooling experience; CNC exposure required for non-degreed employees.
- 1–2 years related experience for typical role level.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design and communicate sequence of operations for components.
- Program CNC machines and develop tooling, jigs and fixtures as needed.
- Optimize plant layout and material flow to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Train personnel on CNC programming and setup.
- Investigate and implement design and process improvements.
