Job summary

Wolfram Manufacturing in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced Process Development Engineer to join a tight-knit team. You will develop and program complex CNC processes, prove them in production, and collaborate with engineering leaders to optimize and automate workflows.

You’ll work hands-on with multi-axis machines, designing fixtures and documenting procedures for seamless handoffs. A strong emphasis on data-driven improvements and practical problem-solving defines this role.

Qualifications

• Multi-axis CNC programming experience — turning, milling, live tooling.
• Experience programming for tight tolerances in hardened or stainless materials.
• Proficiency in CAM platforms (Mastercam, Esprit, Hypermill, TopSolid) with training provided.
• Ability to read and program directly from engineering drawings.
• Clear documentation habits — you write things down so others can follow them.
• Self-directed work style — you can absorb direction, then execute independently.
• US Person status - required for the nature of our work.
• Ability to pass a Firearms Background Check (NICS) – required for the nature of our work.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes for CNC machines (turn/mill/Swiss)
• Program these processes for various CNC machines
• Prove out processes on CNC equipment
• Design and fabricate fixtures, tools, and automations as needed
• Document CNC processes clearly in OnTakt for handoffs
• Support production operators with troubleshooting and slack support
• Maintain and improve health and performance of processes
• Collaborate with Engineering Director to maintain high execution standards
