Job description

CNC Principal Machinist - PMO Factory - Focus on Swiss Machines

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various advanced CNC machines and assist with set-ups, primarily focusing on Swiss-centered machinery.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, read blueprints or mechanical drawings.
• Identify machining or manufacturing issues to produce defect-free parts while meeting production targets.
• Accurately measure parts using tools like calipers and micrometers.
• Set up and operate production machinery to produce close-tolerance medical device parts, verifying and validating new setups and first-piece runs.

Additional Duties:

• Set up and operate advanced CNC equipment such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, and lathes with live tooling.
• Maintain tight tolerances while ensuring production rates are met.
• Perform verification and validation of new setups and in-process inspections.
• Adjust multi-axis equipment to ensure product conformity to strict tolerances.
• Train and mentor less experienced employees.

Work Experience Requirements:

• 7-10 years of experience with advanced CNC production equipment, including Swiss machines with live tooling.
• Successful completion of the Principal Machinist Assessment or current employment as a CONMED CNC Sr Machinist.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Ability to produce defect-free parts at maximum rates.
• Ability to optimize processes through continuous improvement.
