Job summary

Science and Management Resources, Inc. in Corona, CA, seeks a Precision Machinist/Grinder to support Navy weapon systems with precision grinding, inspection, and tooling work.

You will operate CNC mills, grinders, and lathes, develop setups with magnetic chucks and fixtures, and ensure GD&T conformity. This role requires US citizenship and Secret Clearance eligibility and offers opportunities in rapid prototyping and QA-driven production.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma; Science & Math College Credits Preferred or Vocational Training.
• Proficient in Master CAM, GIBBS CAM or equivalent.
• MUST be a U. S. Citizen, able to acquire and maintain any security clearance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must have great interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow GD&T drawings and QA policies.
• AS9100D Quality Management System experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate cost effective manufacturing solutions based on requirements.
• Provide support to Navy programs and Interface Assessment.
• Adhere to Quality Assurance procedures and/or processes through regular reviews/audits.
• Follow Hazmat and safety policy guidance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Understand machining theory and GD&T principles.
• Operate and program CNC mills, grinders, and lathes.
• Develop setups with chucks, fixtures, and precision tooling.
• Select appropriate abrasives and wheel specifications for finish requirements.
• Account for thermal growth, wheel wear, and machine movement in tolerances.
• Dress, balance, and condition grinding wheels accurately.
• Interpret GD&T drawings and maintain datum relationships.
• Produce, verify, troubleshoot, and protect precise dimensional features.
• Design, develop and manufacture tooling for inspections.
