Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking a Precision Cutting Operator in Forest City, IA. The role involves transforming engineering drawings into high-quality fabricated components using CNC cutting equipment, while ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.

You will program and operate CNC machines, load materials, set offsets, adjust programs, and troubleshoot processes to improve performance. A strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork drives continuous improvement and on-time

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in fabrication/manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and take ownership of your work.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to develop machining and cutting programs.
• Program and operate CNC cutting equipment to produce parts with precision and consistency.
• Load materials, set offsets, make program adjustments, and ensure finished products meet quality specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment and fabrication processes, making adjustments to improve performance and accuracy.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine upkeep on CNC machines and related equipment.
• Work closely with fabrication teams and supervisors to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
