Job summary

Aventure Staffing in Norfolk, NE seeks a CNC Plasma Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, and waterjets for custom screening technology and bulk-handling agri-industrial equipment.

You'll need 3+ years of CNC/plasma/laser/waterjet experience, strong blueprint reading and measurement skills, and the ability to lift up to 90 lbs; pass pre-employment screening. Pay starts at $18+ DOE with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of CNC plasma, laser, or waterjet operation experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred.
  • Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 90 lbs and perform heavy labor.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening; valid Driver’s License; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, and waterjets.
  • Layout & Assembly: Position parts and mark cutting lines considering material thickness.
  • Tack-Welding & Fabrication: Perform tack-welding across various positions as needed.
  • Quality Inspection: Check cut precision using micrometers and calipers to ensure quality.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspection of dies and torches.
  • Material Handling: Load/unload heavy materials and assemblies using hoists or cranes.

Job description

Title: CNC Plasma Operator

Location: Norfolk, NE Shift: 6:30am-3:30 pm Pay Rate: $18+DOE

Job Summary:

The CNC Plasma Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized machinery—including CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, and waterjets—to produce high-quality custom screening technology and bulk-handling agri-industrial equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, waterjets, powered saws, and hand shears according to project specifications.
  • Layout & Assembly: Lay out, position, and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. Mark cutting and bending lines while accounting for material thickness and shrinkage.
  • Tack-Welding & Fabrication: Recognize, set up, and operate equipment to tack-weld components across flat, vertical, or overhead positions using electric, gas, or arc welding techniques.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect cut precision, grooves, angles, and gap allowances using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring tools to ensure zero-defect output.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, including oiling, clearing debris, and inspecting dies and torches.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport heavy raw materials and finished assemblies using hoists, overhead cranes, or material handling equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience: 3+ years of CNC plasma, laser, or waterjet operation experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong blueprint reading skills; ability to calculate measurements, ratios, fractions, and angles with high accuracy.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 90 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and reaching overhead.
  • Screening: Must be 18+ years of age with a valid Driver’s License. Must pass pre-employment physical exam, work-style survey, and drug screening. (Class A CDL is a plus).
