Job summary

The Gund Company in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced CNC Operator II for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM). This full-time role focuses on setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, and machining centers to produce precision components for diverse industries.

Candidates should read blueprints, select tooling, load materials, inspect finished parts with precision instruments, and maintain a clean, safe work area while contributing to continuous improvement and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and part quality requirements.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production goals.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and machining centers.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to produce quality parts.
  • Select, install, and adjust tooling as needed for production requirements.
  • Load materials, secure parts, and run jobs according to established specifications.
  • Inspect and measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Complete production and work order documentation accurately.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with training and mentoring less experienced operators.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM (Full-Time)

Pay: Competitive pay based on experience, plus a 15% shift differential

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working in a custom or job-shop manufacturing environment
