Job summary

Tosoh Quartz is seeking a CNC Operator in Portland, OR to assist with CNC machine setup, operate machines, and read blueprints. The role requires reading production travelers and identifying issues, with a pathway to work with a supervisor on solutions.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year CNC experience or a CNC certificate, plus attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. The position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience operating CNC machines, or a CNC certificate.
• Able to follow work instructions accurately.
• Able to identify task requirements, monitor progress and meet project completion deadlines.
• Excellent visual acuity; able to see small details and finish variations and defects.
• Ability to learn and retain new skills: product handling, cleaning, inspection, and packaging.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the set-up of CNC machines.
• Operate CNC machines.
• Read blueprints and production travelers.
• Identify technical problems and work with senior level operator or supervisor to identify a solution.
• Assist with minor adjustments to manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain equipment through daily/weekly maintenance.
• Prepare product for manufacturing process: visual inspection of product.
• Prepare proper fixturing of material to fixtures.
• Clean products.
• Complete work traveler transactions.
• Product movement and handling.
• Daily housekeeping, organizing, and cleaning of work area.
