New York Air Brake is seeking a CNC Machinist (CNC Operator I, manual lathe/mill required) for 1st shift in Springfield, MO. Reports to Production Manager and sets up CNC mills and lathes for production runs to ensure on-time delivery.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years CNC mill/lathe experience. Must work with tight tolerances, follow safety and quality policies, and use measuring devices effectively.

Qualifications

  • Two+ years CNC Mill and Lathe related experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
  • Strong math skills including trigonometry and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC Mills and Lathes for production runs.
  • Change tools, compensate work and tool offsets.
  • Maintain on-time delivery for all jobs in production.
  • Work with tight tolerances +/- .001 in high volume production.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools (e.g., impact wrenches, drills).
  • Follow all quality, safety, and environmental policies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title CNC Machinist

Production Manager

Essential Functions

  • Set up of CNC Mills and Lathes for production runs
  • Change tools, comp work and tool offsets.
  • Maintain on-time delivery for all jobs in production.
  • Work with tight tolerances +-.001 in high volume production scale.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools.
  • Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
