Job summary

Protolabs in Nashua, NH is seeking a CNC Operator I to set up, operate, and monitor HAAS machines to produce high-quality prototype and low-volume parts. The role supports a fast-paced digital manufacturing environment with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

You will load/unload parts, adjust offsets, and load programs, while upholding safety, quality, and on-time delivery during a 7am–3pm weekday shift. Strong attention to detail and blueprint reading are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools to verify tolerances.
  • Experience in CNC manufacturing is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and monitor HAAS CNC machines to manufacture prototype and low-volume parts.
  • Load and unload parts, change offsets, and load programs to machines.
  • Perform tool changes and set tools; report issues to team lead.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and maintain quality during shift.

Join our team as a CNC Operator I.

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machining equipment to manufacture high‑quality prototype and low‑volume production parts. This role supports Protolabs’ fast‑paced digital manufacturing environment by ensuring parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with customer specifications and quality standards.

M-F 7am to 3pm

Responsibilities
  • Operating HAAS CNC machine
  • Loading & unloading parts
  • Changing offsets in the machine if needed
  • Loading programs to the machines
  • Tool changes & setting tools
  • Supporting and reporting issues to team lead/supervisor
  • Following all processes and procedures during the shift, escalating problem areas as appropriate
  • Ensuring jobs run in a timely manner to ensure on‑time delivery
  • Quick turnaround of parts and accuracy within established guidelines
  • Ensuring completion of operator PMs during shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools to ensure correct tolerances
  • Previous experience in a CNC manufacturing facility

Work Environment

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing area exposed to machinery and noise; with eye protection and safety shoes required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
