Job summary

Milacron in Mount Orab, OH is seeking a 3rd Shift CNC Milling Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set up and run CNC milling equipment to produce metal components used in plastics processing machinery, ensuring parts meet strict quality, safety, and delivery standards.

You’ll read blueprints, select tools, adjust speeds and feeds, and monitor operations for dimensional accuracy. Familiarity with inspection gauges and routine machine maintenance is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining experience or completion of a machining certificate program.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling equipment to machine metal components used in plastics processing machinery, ensuring parts meet quality, safety, and delivery requirements.

Work You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines according to blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications.
• Select, install, and adjust tooling, machine offsets, speeds, and feeds to achieve quality and productivity targets.
• Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and process issues during production.
• Inspect and measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic preventative maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuous improvement objectives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• One or more years of hands-on CNC machining experience, completion of a machining certificate program, or a combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.
• Ability to work 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) and train on 1st shift as required.

Preferred

• Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with routine machine maintenance and the use of inspection tools.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
