Job Output
Reporting to the Final Department Supervisor, this position is responsible for editing and loading programs, providing technical support, and the day-to-day operation of the plant’s CNC machines, namely the Weeke CNC machine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- As an integrated member of the production team, ensure all work in the area is performed safely and in support of Plant and Company safety rules, policies, standards, and expectations.
- Oversee machine operation and maintain a safe work environment, including understanding safety features of equipment and maintaining a clean/organized area; escalate safety concerns as needed.
- Upload programmed jobs, set up for run (CNC program and tooling), operate CNC machines, maintain quality and safety standards, keep production records, label manufactured products, and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, GD&T, and machining parameters.
- Capable of using calipers and other precision measuring devices.
- Inspect and validate that Marshfield raw material meets quality specs for the finished product.
- Program the CNC by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements (basic math, geometry, trigonometry); prove part programs.
- Set up the CNC for operations with proper reference points, tools, stock pushers, and safe positioning for tasks.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces to ensure quality.
- Maintain specifications by monitoring drilling, grooving, and cutting; troubleshoot and adjust as needed; replace worn tools; follow QA procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions; request repairs as needed.
- Maintain shift continuity by documenting actions and communicating irregularities and needs.
- Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Update job knowledge through training and reading technical publications; participate in on-site or off-site training with vendors as needed.
- Support organizational goals by taking ownership of new requests and contributing to process improvements.
- When the CNC is not in use, assist with other tasks as directed by management.
- Perform any other function the supervisor deems necessary.

- Ability to communicate effectively and lead team members.

- Knowledge of the forming process for Marshfield products.
Physical Demands
The role requires typical manufacturing environment physical activity; lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally; vision, hearing, and dexterity requirements as described.
Work Environment
Manufacturing setting with potential exposure to hot temperatures, uneven surfaces, loud noises, and dusty conditions. Required PPE includes safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
Education
Required GED or High School diploma.
