Job summary

Pyrotek is seeking a CNC Operator Assistant to produce machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards. You will read blueprints, GD&T, and perform basic calculations to ensure accurate parts and proper tool use.

The role includes weekend or evening schedules depending on production needs and a $1,500 sign-on bonus distributed over time. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of CNC experience.

Qualifications

• Core people skills and ability to interact with a diverse team.
• Strong reading comprehension of directions, work orders and drawings.
• Basic computer skills and operator navigation of CNC/PWS systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining projects from work orders, blueprints and GD&T.
• Interpret GD&T with basic math including geometry and trig.
• Set up machines with chucks, tools and fixtures; manage tooling and stock.
• Maintain quality by inspecting parts and troubleshooting processes.
• Operate Mills, Drill Presses and Band Saws; provide instruction to assistants.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document actions across shifts.
