Job summary

Premier Aluminum is seeking a CNC Operator for 2nd shift to produce machined parts by operating CNC equipment and following detailed process instructions. You will perform standard operations, switch tools, and assist with basic setups while maintaining quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have machining fundamentals, basic print reading, shop arithmetic, and the ability to work independently or in a team. The role offers a 4pm–2am schedule, a wage range of $20–$24 per hour with a $1.50 shift

Qualifications

• Fundamental machining skills and safe operation of equipment.
• Ability to read basic prints and perform shop arithmetic.
• Familiar with measurement procedures and gauging.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and related machines to perform standard and repetitive operations.
• Drill, bore, mill, turn and balance as required.
• Follow detailed process instructions and maintain setups made by others.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify positions and quality.
• Inspect own work and meet part rate targets while ensuring quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist others as needed.
• Take initiative to improve processes and perform other duties as assigned.

CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

• Wages: $20 - $24, starting wages based on experience
• Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour worked on the 2nd shift
• Days of Work: Monday - Thursday
• Hours of Work: 4pm - 2am
• Eligible for $250 monthly bonus based on attendance and safety

Primary Functions

Produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, performing a standard series of progressive machining operations to close and exacting tolerances. Changes tools and assists with or performs standard set-ups.

Duties and Overall Responsibilities

• Following detailed instructions, operates CNC and other machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are proved and setups made and maintained by others
• Drilling, boring, milling, turning and balancing, as required
• Working from detailed process instructions
• Using precision measuring instruments or limit gauges to check machine positioning
• Inspecting your own work for quality
• Meeting rate for each part, while maintaining quality
• Maintaining a clean work environment
• Taking responsibility for equipment care and basic maintenance
• Assisting other operators as needed
• Recognizing own capabilities and taking initiative to continually improve
• Performing other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50 pounds. The CNC Operator should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
