Job summary

Taylor Corporation is seeking a CNC Equipment Operator for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 2:45pm–1:15am) in Plymouth, MN. You will set up and run machines, interpret Job Travelers and drawings, and ensure first article and in-process measurements meet quality standards.

Qualifications include experience as an Apprentice Machinist, familiarity with FANUC-like machinery and CIM programming, and strong math skills. Expected hourly range is $22.00–$26.00 with daily responsibilities and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Funuc controlled machinery and Router CIM programming.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Safety and Hazardous Material training provided by ADA.

Responsibilities

• Understand Job Traveler, ADA documents, and first article inspection.
• Set up and operate machines using Job Traveler information and drawings.
• Certify measurements and ensure accuracy of first article and in-process measurements.
• Operate safely and perform routine maintenance as directed by the Team Leader.
• Label pallets and handle finished parts per procedures.
• Certify processes and follow directions from Team Leader and Department Manager.
• Apply first article inspection and in-process inspection procedures.
• Use calipers, protractors, Vernier calipers, and tape measures.
• Maintain equipment and comply with policies and hazardous material guidelines.
• Report injuries to an ADA representative and attend trainings.
• Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Shift:

2nd Shift; Monday - Thursday 2:45pm - 1:15am

Your Responsibilities:

• Operational Documents and Systems Understands the content and application of the Job Traveler, ADA approved Measured Drawings, Cut Sheets, and First Article Inspection Documents.
• Machine Set-up and Operation Set up jobs based on Job Traveler information and dimensional drawing information, including written machine operation procedures.
• Certified in measurement practices and is accountable for accuracy and presentation of First Article Measurements, and In Process Measurements
• Understands the safe uses of the department machinery and supporting equipment including routine maintenance procedures as directed by the Team Leader
• Responsible for the safe handling completed parts and materials and the labeling of pallets based on documented procedures
• Responsible for certification of all processes and procedures as directed by the Team Leader and Department Manager.
• Understands and practices and applies the process of first article inspection.
• Understands and practices and applies the process of “viewed quality” and “in process inspection”.
• Understands the content listed on the Job Traveler, Cut Sheet, and Measured Drawings and is certified in the independent use of these operational documents.
• Is trained and capable in the use of digital and dial calipers, protractors, Vernier calipers and tape measures.
• Department Maintenance, Upkeep, & Disposal of Hazardous Materials Demonstrates proper use and care for all ADA property.
• Adheres to the guidelines set forth in or by ADA, State, and Federal mandated policies and regulations.
• Immediately report all injuries, serious or minor, to an ADA Representative.
• Effective Communication, Meetings, and Training Attend scheduled employee meetings and training sessions as required.
• Other duties as apparent or assigned.

You Must Have:

• Has held the position of Apprentice Machinist at ADA or within industry
• General understanding of Funuc Controlled Machinery and Router CIM programming
• General understanding of ADA Machining Equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Possession of good math and problem solving skills
• Safety and Hazardous Material training (provided by ADA)

Requirements Within This Position:

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
• Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
• Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
• Frequently required to move inside the facility
• Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

• Must have ability to work with very close tolerances
• High degree of analytical skills
• Good color discernment

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00.
