Job Overview
Cambria is looking for a CNC Machine Operator responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and operating CNC machines while ensuring safety, quality, and order accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, load raw materials, supervise automated cutting process, and perform quality inspections to ensure quartz stone meets exact design specifications and tolerances.
- Load and edit machine programs.
- Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain CNC machine in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Operate an overhead crane or vacuum lift to place slab partials on the CNC table.
- Complete daily safety inspections of all equipment before use.
- Organize, maintain, and keep the work area free of clutter.
- Perform job duties safely as outlined in Cambria Core Safety Rules.
- Visually inspect CNC equipment and tooling for proper functionality.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures for machines.
- Use measuring equipment and verify each part before and after machining.
- Communicate and troubleshoot within your area and between other areas of the shop as needed to leadership.
- Cross‑train on multiple types of equipment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications with precision.
- Commitment to maintaining high production standards and adhering to company quality control procedures.
- Strong aptitude of machining processes, tooling, materials, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment.
- Basic computer, manual, and critical thinking skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: 1–2+ years in machining (preferred but not required).
- Post‑secondary education in machining (preferred).
- Systems: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs and push loaded carts to machines or the next fabrication department.
- Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 10 hours, with intermittent breaks.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria, including steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and cut‑proof gloves.
