Job summary

SETNIX LLC is seeking a CNC Operator to support our machine shop operations in Tempe, AZ. You will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, load CNC programs, and verify dimensions against engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.

The ideal candidate has experience with precision measuring tools and is able to ensure parts meet tight tolerances for aerospace components, including APUs and main engine parts. A collaborative environment and safety focus are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC mills or lathes.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Aerospace, aviation, turbine engine, or aircraft component experience preferred.

Description

Setnix is seeking a CNC Operator to support our Machine Shop operations. The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment to machine and repair precision aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and established CNC programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machinery, working with tight tolerances, and using precision measuring equipment.

Requirements
Job Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other CNC machining equipment.
  • Load and run approved CNC programs according to job requirements.
  • Install and properly position tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Machine and repair precision aerospace components, including APU and Main Engine components.
  • Monitor machine operations and make permitted adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Perform in-process dimensional checks using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Verify completed parts meet required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
  • Identify and report machine, tooling, dimensional, or quality issues.
  • Complete required production and machining documentation accurately.
  • Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe area.
  • Follow company safety procedures, quality requirements, and applicable Repair Station procedures.
  • Work closely with Programming, Engineering, Production, and Quality personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous CNC machine operation or machining experience wanted.
  • Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Basic understanding of machining processes, tooling, and shop mathematics.
  • Ability to work accurately with tight tolerances.
  • Aerospace, aviation, turbine engine, or aircraft component experience preferred.
  • Experience with APU or Main Engine components is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow established CNC programs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements associated with machining operations.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
