Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. in Newton, Iowa is hiring CNC Operators to set up and operate machines, read blueprints, and prepare materials for production.

You will work with heavy plates and specialized equipment, including burn tables and mag lifts, while ensuring quality and safety on a fast-paced production line in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CNC or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to operate a lift to move loads up to 30,000 pounds.
• Overhead crane operation on a production line.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Fluent in reading/writing/speaking English.
• Team-oriented with strong work ethics.

Responsibilities

• Roll and re-roll plate to match sweep.
• Inspect plate for defects and damage.
• Operate burn table to cut plate per blueprints and measurements.
• Transfer materials within the department using mag lift.
• Blast and paint plate.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Support safety committees or initiatives when assigned.
• Perform duties to meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot and correct faulty programming.
• Train new or existing team members.
• Ensure the safety of all team members.
• Maintain and improve quality.

Arcosa Wind Towers is now hiring for CNC Operators. As a CNC Operator, you’ll set up and operate machines, and may use blueprints, adjust for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas. You’ll work with unconventional materials that require specialized skills.

Job Location: Newton, IA

What You’ll Do

• Roll and re-roll plate to match sweep
• Inspect plate for defects and damage
• Operate burn table to cut plate according to blueprints and measurements and dispose of any remaining material
• Operate mag lift to transfer plate within the department
• Blast and paint plate
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Troubleshoot and correct faulty programming
• Train of new or existing team members
• Assure safety of all team members
• Assist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
• Maintain and improve quality

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of 1 year of experience
• The ability to operate a lift to move loads up to 30,000 pounds
• The ability to operate an overhead crane on a production line
• The ability to read a tape measurer
• The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Ability to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat all coworkers with dignity and respect and support a positive working culture

Working Conditions

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
