Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Handle materials safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Set up, operate, and/or program CNC machinery as required.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure quality and specification requirements are met.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow direction from supervisors and team leads while meeting production expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across departments.

Job description

Freeman Boatworks — known around the world for exceptional quality and performance — is looking for a CNC Operator to join our growing team.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in our production process. You’ll help prepare and operate CNC machines to cut fiberglass kits, organize and label materials, track inventory, and make sure each build has the correct parts ready to go. If you enjoy hands‑on work, have an eye for detail, and like being part of a team that takes pride in what they build, this could be a great fit for you.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handle materials safely and in accordance with company procedures
  • Set up, operate, and/or program CNC machinery as required
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Inspect finished components to ensure quality and specification requirements are met
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, and squatting
  • Stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift
  • Work in awkward positions or tight spaces as needed
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Tolerance for exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and outdoor elements
  • Possible exposure to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, and cleaners
