Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced CNC operator to produce precision aerospace parts at the LADSON, SC site. You will operate CNC mills and lathes, load materials, run existing programs, and make minor edits as needed while ensuring adherence to drawings and quality standards.

Applicants should be proficient with precision measuring tools, able to interpret blueprints, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a team-based production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a production environment.
• Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and/or turning machines to manufacture precision parts.
• Load and unload raw material and finished parts safely and efficiently.
• Run existing CNC programs and monitor machining operations for accuracy and consistency.
• Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and minor program edits as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Verify part dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes meet aerospace specifications.
• Document inspection results and production data per quality requirements.
• Identify and report non-conforming parts or process issues.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all aerospace quality standards, safety policies, and procedures.

Job description

This role is responsible for operating CNC mills and/or lathes to produce high‑quality parts that meet strict quality and tolerance requirements. Ideal candidates have experience working from detailed prints, performing in‑process inspections, and maintaining consistent quality in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and/or turning machines to manufacture precision parts
• Load and unload raw material and finished parts safely and efficiently
• Run existing CNC programs and monitor machining operations for accuracy and consistency
• Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and minor program edits as required (based on skill level)
• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LADSON, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
