JRK Steel Inc. in Duluth, MN is seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our metal fabrication team. This hands-on role uses plasma cutting equipment in a fast-paced shop to produce precision metal components.

You will read blueprints, program cut files, and inspect parts for quality while maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Previous plasma cutting experience is required, and the ability to meet production deadlines is essential.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and cut sheets.
• Operate CNC machines to cut metal components to spec.
• Program or load cut files into plasma table software/CNC controls.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma cutting equipment.

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Machines to cut metal components to specification

• Program or load cut files into plasma table software/CNC controls
• Inspect finished parts for quality, dimensional accuracy, and clean cuts
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma cutting equipment

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop safety standards

Requirements:

• Prior experience operating a CNC plasma cutting or similar metal fabrication equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
• Basic math skills including measurements and tolerances
• Familiarity with steel grades, plate sizes, and material handling
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials as needed
