Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a CNC Mills and Lathe Setup/ Operator in Santa Ana, CA to support production in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role focuses on setting up and inspecting CNC mill and lathe processes to meet preset standards, with collaboration from programmers to optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of CNC Mills and Lathe experience, strong blueprint interpretation skills, and proficiency with precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a CNC manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of CNC Mills and Lathe experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges and dial indicators to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC Mill and Lathe machines (Fadal, Kitamura, Bridgeport) to preset standards.
• Work from drawings and specifications; adjust feeds, speeds and tooling with programmers’ assistance.
• Set up and inspect first article parts on proven programs and obtain QA verification.
• Change cutting tools and adjust tool/work offsets to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions for safety.

Our client, an industry leader in manufacturing, is seeking a CNC Mills and Lathe Setup/ Operator to join their team. As a CNC Mills and Lathe Setup/ Operator, you will be part of the manufacturing department supporting production teams. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Shift:

7:30AM - 4:00PM, Monday through Friday

What's the Job?

• Responsible for setting up a variety of CNC Mill & Lathe machine tools including Fadal, Kitamura, and Bridgeport to produce acceptable products to preset standards.

• Works from drawings, blueprints, job layouts, and other specifications, adjusting feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences as required with programmers’ assistance.

• Set up and inspect first article parts on proven programs and turn them in for Quality Assurance verification.

• Change cutting tools and adjust tool and work offsets as required to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to maintain safety and productivity.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment.

• 5+ years of CNC Mills and Lathe experience

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

• Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators to tolerances of ± .001”.

• Knowledge of “G” and “M” codes, machine and tool offsets, and setup procedures.

• Wears required personal protective equipment and follows all safety policies and procedures.
