Barnes Aerospace is seeking a CNC Milling/Turning Machinist for 2nd shift at our East Granby, CT facility. You will operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines in an aerospace/high-precision environment and support setup/changeovers in a cell-based manufacturing setting.

Requires 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing and 3+ years of CNC experience; strong math, GD&T, and reading operation/tool sheets are essential. On-site role with 15% shift differential for 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred.
• 3+ years operating CNC multi-axis milling/turning machines preferred.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge and ability to read operation sheets.

15% Shift Differential effective on 2nd Shift

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment preferred.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis Milling/Turning machine preferred.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.

• Ability to run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
• Must be willing to run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
• Ability to work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
• Ability to read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
• Must be proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
• Ability to use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
• Ability to load part onto a fixture
• Ability to load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
• Ability to read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
• Must be able to read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Familiarity with operation of Right-Angle Heads
• Must have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge
• Must possess the ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
