Job summary

STS Aero is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setup Technician to join our expanding machine shop team in the United States. You will collaborate with programmers and engineers to set up production runs and assist with program development, ensuring parts meet specifications through blueprint interpretation and G-code proficiency.

You will inspect parts with micrometers and gauges, set up for First Article Inspection, troubleshoot production issues, and train operators after FAI completion.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in CNC milling or similar roles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
• Ability to operate machine equipment according to job instructions.
• Experience with CNC probing systems and knowledge of 5-axis CNC machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up production runs and assist with program development.
• Understand blueprints, job plans and operation instructions to ensure parts meet specs.
• Proficient in understanding G-Code.
• Inspect parts using micrometer, calipers, height gauge, optical comparator and gauges.
• Set up machines for First Article Inspection (FAI) and hand over to operators after passing FAI.
• Troubleshoot problems during production machining; train operators post-FAI.
