Job summary

STS Aerospace in the United States is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setup Technician to join our growing machine shop. You will work with programmers and engineers to set up production runs, inspect parts, and support program development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing First Article Inspection, training operators, troubleshooting, and operating Haas Milling Centers and CNC lathes; knowledge of CNC probing and 5-axis is a plus.

Qualifications

• Understand blueprints, job plans and operation instructions to assure parts are manufactured to specs.
• Able to inspect a workpiece using micrometer, calipers, height gauge, optical comparator and gauges.
• Set up machines using verbal/written instructions provided by programmer/engineer to produce a part for First Article Inspection. When part passes FAI you will turn the production over to an operator after instructing them on the production of the part..
• Troubleshoot problems during the standard production machining process
• Train machine operators to run production jobs after part passes FAI.
• Know how to operate Haas Milling Centers and or Lathes is a plus.
• Experience using CNC probing systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of 5 Axis CNC machines is a plus.
• Able to perform all types of deburring as needed

• 3-5 Years of experience in similar roles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members
• Ability to operate machine equipment according to job instructions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
