SMF Inc., an Etnyre International Company, is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Center Operator for the 3rd shift in Minonk, IL. You will set up and operate CNC milling centers, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet exact specifications.

Qualifications

• Must read gauges and tape measures.
• Able to operate overhead cranes.
• Lift 50 lbs and stand long periods.
• Proven CNC Milling Machine Center experience.
• Skilled in precision measurement tools.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Good math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Milling Machine Centers to drill, grind, mill, etc.
• Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to interpret tasks.
• Translate instructions into machine commands.
• Load raw materials and parts onto machines.
• Run test cycles to verify outputs against specifications.
• Set machines for full cycles to fabricate large numbers of parts.
• Supervise machines and adjust for quality improvements.
• Inspect finished parts and compare with specs.
• Perform daily checks and maintenance on machinery.

Location: Minonk, IL

Pay Range:

• CNC Machine Operator A: $25.75 - $34.57
• CNC Machine Operator B: $23.50 - $30.96
• CNC Machine Operator C: $22.50 - $28.45

$2.50/hr Shift Premium

Classification based on experience and skills test performance

What You’ll Do:

• Set up and operate CNC Milling Machine Centers to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
• Understands specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
• Translates instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Prepares and loads raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepares a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Sets machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
• Supervises the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Inspects and measures finished products and compares them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to read gauges and tape measures
• Ability to operate overhead cranes
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
• Professional Certification is a plus
• Proven experience as CNC Milling Machine Center Operator (preferred)
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
