Job summary

KLA Industries seeks an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for our Springfield, MA facility. The role focuses on setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC lathes with 3- to 5-axis capabilities to produce high-quality parts in a direct placement, full-time capacity.

The ideal candidate has 8-10 years in CNC machining, preferably with an aerospace background, and can read blueprints, troubleshoot, and maintain productivity on the shop floor. Shift is 2nd (3 PM–11 PM).

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of CNC Machining (Lathe) experience in CNC 3 & 4-Axis lathe setup and operation.
• Aerospace background is preferred.
• Experience with 5-Axis machining and blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines (3, 4, and 5-Axis) according to blueprint specifications.
• Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot controllers, machines, and processes.
• Select appropriate tools and set feeds and speeds to meet production requirements.
• Perform inspections of machined parts using precision hand tools to ensure quality standards.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain productivity.
• Lift up to 70 lbs. as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Monitor inventory and reorder tools as necessary.
