Job summary

NextPlay Jobs in Minneapolis seeks an experienced Mill-Turn Setup Machinist to join a growing precision manufacturing operation supporting tight-tolerance medical device components. This is not an operator-only role; you will own a setup from start to finish, troubleshoot issues, adjust tooling and offsets, and ensure first-piece quality before production runs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC machining/setup experience.
• Hands-on with complete CNC mill-turn setups.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete CNC mill-turn setups, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and machine parameters.
• Read blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and CNC programs.
• Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding.
• Produce and inspect first-piece parts before production.
• Perform in-process inspection with precision measuring tools.
• Adjust tooling and offsets to maintain tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machining issues independently.
• Monitor runs and identify efficiency/quality improvements.
