Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Technician to support our Mill department, with the ability to independently set up jobs, optimize machining processes, and troubleshoot equipment to maintain production schedules and quality.

The role involves hands-on work with Mori Seiki, Kitamura, Doosan, and Haas machines, plus familiarity with Fanuc and Celos controls, G-code programming, and Mastercam/CIMCO.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC setup experience in a job shop.
• Familiarity with Fanuc/Celos controls, G-code programming, Mastercam/CIMCO Edit and VS Code.
• Ability to independently perform machine setups and troubleshooting.
• Trade school or formal machining education preferred, may be substituted with equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Produce first-article parts and ensure setups maintain quality standards.
• Make machine adjustments and offsets independently.
• Operate CNC machines as required.
• Create and modify fixtures to improve efficiency and part quality.
• Optimize cycle times by adjusting programs, speeds, and feeds.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and assist with repairs/maintenance.
• Communicate with Production Management and Scheduling to support workflow.
• Assist with quality control activities, including inspection sheets.
• Train and mentor new setup personnel.
• Monitor new tooling implementations for proper cutting parameters.
• Coordinate outside repairs or replacement purchases when necessary.
• Perform special projects and duties as assigned by Foreman.
