What We’re Looking For

We’re open to different experience levels, so don't rule yourself out simply because you haven't done everything listed below.

CNC Machinist I

A good fit if you have:

  • CNC machining experience or relevant machining/trade-school training
  • Basic blueprint reading skills
  • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, or gauges
  • Experience operating CNC equipment
  • An interest in developing stronger setup and troubleshooting skills
CNC Machinist II

A good fit if you're comfortable with:

  • Setting up and operating CNC mills or lathes
  • Tool changes and offsets
  • Reading prints independently
  • Inspecting your own parts
  • Troubleshooting common machining problems
  • Understanding tooling, speeds, feeds, and basic CNC programs
  • Working with limited supervision
CNC Machinist III

We're especially interested if you can:

  • Independently perform complex CNC mill or lathe setups
  • Troubleshoot tooling and machining problems
  • Read and understand GD&T
  • Work confidently with precision inspection equipment
  • Select and manage cutting tools and workholding
  • Make CNC program changes
  • Improve setups or machining processes
  • Help less-experienced machinists work through machining problems

Current senior-level Agawam postings also emphasize complex setups, programming, troubleshooting, G-code/CAM knowledge, precision inspection, and process optimization.

Don't Run Kitamura Machines Today?

That's okay.

If your CNC milling background is on other equipment, we're still interested. Solid machining fundamentals matter more than having worked on one specific brand of machine.

If you understand setups, tooling, offsets, prints, inspection, and how to make a good part, let's talk.
