Job summary

Joyce/Dayton Corp. in Portland, IN is seeking a CNC Mill Operator II for 2nd shift to safely and efficiently manufacture parts meeting quality standards. This hourly, non-exempt role reports to the Production Supervisor.

You will read process sheets, blueprints, setup tools, edit programs, inspect parts with precision instruments, and help to reduce cycle times. A minimum of 3 years CNC mill experience, ability to interpret blueprints, and basic hand tools are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and related experience.
• 3 years of CNC Mill experience.
• Ability to interpret and adhere to blueprints.
• Own basic hand tools at minimum.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills.
• Experience using steady rest.
• Advanced understanding of gearing terminology.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills and machine parts to tight tolerances.
• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches.
• Edit CNC programs for improvements.
• Set up tools and fixtures; mount workpieces.
• Inspect first article and ongoing parts with precision instruments.
• Maintain machine fluid levels and perform basic maintenance.
• Identify and share process improvements.
• Crosstrain on other plant machinery.
