Job summary

Erie Industrial Products LLC in Oberlin, OH is seeking an experienced CNC Operator. You will set up and operate CNC mills and grinders to produce precision parts, read blueprints, and edit G & M codes to optimize performance. Investigate issues with engineering and production teams, and ensure quality through precise inspection.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of CNC machining experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of G & M codes and program editing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and grinders to manufacture precision parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production docs.
  • Change fixtures, tooling, and offsets for accurate setup.
  • Edit CNC programs and adjust speeds/feeds for performance.
  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers and calipers.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues with engineering and production teams.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and meet quality/production goals.

Location: Oberlin, OH

Hours: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

What You'll Do

As a CNC Operator, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality machined components by:

  • Setting up and operating CNC mills and grinders to manufacture precision parts.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and production documentation.
  • Changing fixtures, tooling, and tooling offsets while ensuring accurate machine setup.
  • Editing CNC programs and adjusting G & M Codes, speeds, and feeds for optimal performance.
  • Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers and calipers.
  • Troubleshooting machining issues and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve processes.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area while consistently meeting quality and production goals.
What You Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machinery
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of G & M Codes and program editing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Teamoriented attitude with excellent communication skills
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk throughout the workday
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance
  • Lift up to 35 pounds
  • Work comfortably in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
