Modern Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist for a weekend shift at our Phoenix, AZ facility. This on-site role includes a $4,000 sign-on bonus and a 10% weekend shift differential on base pay.

Responsibilities cover loading/unloading, setting feeds/speeds, monitoring gauges, and ensuring pieces meet specs with precision tools. High school diploma and basic blueprint reading required. Experience with 5S/Lean, SPC, and GD&T is a plus; training included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
• 5S and Lean Manufacturing training.
• Basic Blueprint Reading.
• Documentation and Modern’s Production System.
• Inspection Techniques for Machinists; SPC Charts and Tools; Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Adjusting Boring heads.

Weekend shift is eligible for a 10% shift differential on base pay.

Effective July 7, 2026 Sign-On Bonus: $4000. Paid out: 1st half 30 days, and 2nd half in 60 days once on Modern's payroll.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Loads, Unloads, Starts, and Stops Machines.
• Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
• Watches gauges, dials, and other key indicators to make sure machines are working properly and work‑pieces meet quality standards.
• Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools and excessive vibration.
• Measures dimensions of finished work‑pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic hand tools, including their uses and maintenance.
• Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
• Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.
• Basic mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
• 5S and Lean Manufacturing training.
• Basic Blueprint Reading.
