Job summary

HMH is seeking a skilled CNC mill machinist for our Houston area metal shop. The role requires setup, operation, and inspection of 5-axis Deckel Maho machines to meet exact specifications; you will read drawings and document processes while maintaining a safe, clean work area.

Candidates should have high school diploma or GED and 5+ years of CNC milling experience; night shift 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; overtime as needed. Knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement is a plus; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 5+ years of CNC milling experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of cutting tools, measuring equipment and QC practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality expectations while supporting production schedules.
  • Set up, operate, and edit CNC mill processes to produce parts meeting print specifications.
  • Inspect dimensions and document results; report non-conformities.
  • Operate overhead crane safely and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with team and communicate effectively to meet deadlines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform work in compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality expectations while supporting a production schedule.
  • Execute daily priorities and duties as defined by the supervisor or area lead.
  • Set up, operate, and edit if needed to produce products that meet required specifications.
  • Complete required documentation with accurate information.
  • Inspect and ensure all dimensions are within print specifications and report any non-conformities.
  • The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to apply basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, work orders and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet consistent attendance.
  • The employee must be able to safely operate the use of an overhead crane.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to HMH Values, Compliance, Integrity and HSSE.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years as a CNC mill machinist.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Desired Characteristics
  • 5+ years as a CNC Deckel Maho 5-axis mill machinist.
  • Advanced knowledge of cutting tools, processes, hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to setup and run with little to no supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and adherence to processes and policies.
  • Experience with BOP products.
Additional Information
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • No relocation assistance 3:00PM – 11:30PM Monday through Friday (with overtime as required), some weekends and holidays from 1:00PM – 9:30 PM.
  • Climate controlled machine shop.
