H3 Manufacturing Group, LLC is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist in Champaign, IL. You will operate and set up CNC mills and related equipment to produce precision parts per drawings and process documents.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years CNC experience, reads blueprints, and works with tight tolerances. The role offers day shift or 2nd shift options, with a 10% shift differential for 2nd shift and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years CNC machining or CNC operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.

• Proficient in using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and reliable attendance.
• Willingness to work OT and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently operate CNC mills, lathes, or other CNC equipment.
• Perform routine machine setups, load programs, change tooling, set offsets, verify first-piece quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and process documentation.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and gauges.
• Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve cycle time, quality, and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot routine machining and quality issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
• Complete production documentation accurately.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and maintain clean, organized workstations using 5S principles.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist

Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift (6am to 4:30pm M-Th) or 2nd shift (4pm to 2:30am M-Th)

Location: Champaign, IL

This position requires ITAR compliance and may involve access to technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Sponsorship is not available now nor in the future.

Key Responsibilities: Our CNC Operators are responsible for independently operating and performing routine setups on CNC machines to produce precision components that meet customer specifications. This position requires 1 to 5 years of previous CNC manufacturing experience, strong attention to quality, and the ability to troubleshoot routine machining issues while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with CNC machining and operation (preferably with precision, complex, tight tolerance components).
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens, or similar CNC controls.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 10-hour shift.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, and grasp.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery and measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing production environment.
• Regular exposure to machinery, metal materials, and industrial noise.
• Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.

Pay: starting at $26-31/hour, plus 10% shift differential for 2nd shift
