Responsibilities

• Take inventory by checking stock and placing orders as needed.
• Program mills and lathes by entering instructions and reference points.
• Set up mills by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, and attachments.
• Load stock into position and feed mechanism.
• Verify settings by measuring positions, first run part, and sample workpieces.
• Maintain specifications during drilling, grooving, turning, knurling and thread chasing operations.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Family owned and operated precision CNC machine shop in Pacoima is looking for a CNC Mill/Lathe Operator to join their team.

Summary: Our company is searching for a talented and experienced CNC machine operator to oversee our computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines. You will be responsible for ensuring our company produces quality parts and tools specific to engineering drawings and client standards. As the machine operator, the successful candidate will be a highly skilled professional, with excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities:

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and orthographic drawings.
• Take inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available, anticipated stock, and placing orders.
• Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.
• Set up mills by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, and attachments.
• Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

• Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.
