Job summary

Actalent in Damascus, VA is seeking an Engineering Technician to support our machine shop operations, interpreting complex drawings and improving processes. You will develop CNC programs for Fanuc, Fadal, Haas, Mazatrol; work on tooling, metrology, Lean manufacturing; contract role onsite. The role emphasizes problem solving, layout optimization, and multidisciplinary collaboration to deliver high-quality parts on schedule.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the machine shop concerning machines, processes, tooling, fixtures, programming, metrology, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and optimize CNC programs and tooling for machine tools with Fanuc, Fadal, Haas, and Mazatrol controllers.
• Analyze space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow to improve operational performance.
• Ensure tooling capability, assist in product startups, standardize tooling, integrate work cells, and manage projects from inception through production.
• Assist in the specification, selection, and procurement of machinery and equipment necessary for manufacturing processes.
• Design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment, related fixtures, and tooling to reduce cost, lead time, and changeover.
