L2x Talent Solutions in Downers Grove is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, optimize, and implement CNC machining processes for complex components. You will develop multi-axis programs, select tooling and fixtures, and drive improvements that boost quality and throughput.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a CNC machining environment
Hands-on CNC programming experience using CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit, GibbsCAM, NX CAM, CAMWorks, or similar)

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for machined components and assemblies.
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers using CAM software.
Select cutting tools, fixtures, work holding, and machining strategies to maximize productivity and quality.
Troubleshoot machining issues, reduce cycle times, and improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
Support new product introductions by developing manufacturing methods, process documentation, and work instructions.
Design and validate manufacturing processes to improve quality, throughput, and cost.
Conduct time studies, process capability analyses, and root cause investigations.
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure products are manufacturable (DFM).
Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Develop process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
Work closely with Quality to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
Support equipment selection, installation, validation, and commissioning.
Train machinists and operators on new programs, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
Analyze production metrics and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company quality requirements.
