Excellent measurement skills with calipers, micrometers.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC vertical milling machines.
Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code/CAM.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
Set tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters.
Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks.
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs.
Optimize processes for quality, cycle time, and efficiency.
Assist with new part launches and process development.
Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams.
Identify opportunities for waste reduction and continuous improvement.

CNC Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Milling

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing manufacturing operation in the Middlebury, Indiana area. This position is hands-on and will be responsible for programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and operating CNC milling equipment, with a strong focus on Haas CNC machines.

The ideal candidate has a solid machining background and understands how to take a part from print to finished product. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving manufacturing challenges, and improving CNC processes.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC vertical milling machines
Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
Select appropriate tooling, workholding, feeds, and speeds
Set tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters
Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks
Troubleshoot machining issues and make program/tooling adjustments
Optimize machining processes for quality, cycle time, and efficiency
Assist with new part launches and process development
Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and waste reduction
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Qualifications

Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills
Experience with Haas CNC equipment strongly preferred
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Proficiency with G-code and CNC programming
Experience with CNC tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and offsets
Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
CNC machining or manufacturing engineering experience
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a production team

Preferred Qualifications
