Job summary

Macuch Steel Products is seeking a Saw Operator in Georgia to accurately cut structural steel and miscellaneous metal for fabrication using manual and CNC saws. The role focuses on producing precise, quality cuts while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

You will read shop drawings, cut lists, and production schedules, verify material specs, upload CNC programs, and help maintain a clean, organized work area while supporting other production teams as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience operating industrial saws in steel fabrication preferred.
Ability to read a tape measure and perform fractional/decimal math.
Ability to read fabrication drawings, cut lists, and work orders.
Basic computer proficiency including uploading production files.
Willing to learn CNC cutting equipment and related software.
Forklift/overhead crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate manual and CNC saws to cut structural steel and miscellaneous metal products.
Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, work orders, and production schedules.
Measure, mark, and cut steel materials to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Verify material type, size, quantity, and heat numbers prior to cutting.
Upload and run cutting programs using the Bend-Tech Dragon CNC operating system.
Inspect cut materials for dimensional accuracy and quality before release to fabrication.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist other production departments to meet manufacturing schedules.
