Candidates should read prints, set up tooling, and move between CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, and Manual operations. Experience with MasterCAM or GibbsCAM is preferred; willingness to train and improve processes is valued.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Card, Technical Certificate, or 5+ years of on-the-job training.
- Shop environment readiness including noise, coolant, and temperature swings.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Read prints and use standard gaging equipment to verify parts.
- Own your area and train machinists, manage backlog, and ensure quality.
- Program parts from scratch using MasterCAM, GibbsCAM, or similar.
- Machine product to spec and reject nonconforming parts.
- Communicate WIP timing to engineering and related teams.
- Monitor inventory levels and schedule manufacturing runs.
- Store proven programs, tooling, fixtures, and tooling sheets.
- Move between CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, Manual, and Tool Cell areas.
- Collaborate with vendors to pursue continuous improvement.
